SANILEC® TRP

SANILEC TRP seawater electrochlorination (SWEC) system is the efficient, safe, low-maintenance technology for to help control marine biofouling in offshore oil & gas, offshore wind power generation, and coastal power applications. Marine growth reduces your system’s efficiency, leads to equipment damage, and compromises safety. Unplanned maintenance greatly impacts your bottom line. The self-cleaning cell in the new SANILEC TRP hypochlorite generator minimizes operation and maintenance requirements to reduce operating expenses and increase safety.

Easy to Operate and Maintain

De Nora, with nearly 100 years of electrochemistry experience and expertise in anodic coating development, presents its latest innovation: a truly self-cleaning SWEC (Seawater Electrochlorination) cell.

The introduced self-cleaning cell in the SANILEC TRP hypochlorite generator from De Nora offers a significant advantage by minimizing operation and maintenance requirements, ultimately reducing operating expenses and enhancing safety.

Like other technologies and legacy De Nora SANILEC systems, the electrolitic cell would typically require routine chemical cleaning (acid washing) every six to eight weeks of operation to remove the deposits of calcium and magnesium on the cathodes to ensure the restoration of the optimum operation mode, thus extending their service life. However, De Nora's patented self-cleaning technology eliminates the need to purchase, store, and handle hazardous chemicals for maintenance, resulting in substantial cost savings, higher production output- stable over time and without interruption because of frequent acid washing procedures resulting in overall better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

This breakthrough innovation by De Nora showcases its commitment to providing efficient and sustainable solutions in the field of seawater electrochlorination. The self-cleaning feature not only simplifies the operation and maintenance of the SANILEC TRP hypochlorite generator but also enhances its overall performance and reliability.

Offshore Seawater Biofouling Control systems for FPSO
De Nora SANILEC systems are an essential solution for FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) operations. They provide on-site production of sodium hypochlorite from seawater, offering advantages such as continuous dosing of jockey pump caissons and intermittent shock dosing of fire water pump caissons. This prevents macrofouling and ensures algae and slime-free fire water main loops. In cooling water applications, SANILEC systems combat biofouling and marine growth by generating low-strength sodium hypochlorite from seawater that can be injected at any point in the FPSO's cooling system. This enhances operational efficiency, prolongs equipment life, and reduces maintenance frequency. Tailored to meet the specific needs of FPSOs, SANILEC is a technology offers reliable and cost-effective, ensuring clean systems for fire water pump caissons and cooling water circuits free from biofouling.

Fire Water Systems
De Nora SWEC systems produce sodium hypochlorite for continuous dosing of jockey pump caissons and for intermittent shock dosing of fire water pump caissons. Shock dosing keeps the fire water pump caissons clean and free from macrofouling while also ensuring the fire water main loop is algae and slime-free.

Cooling Water
In applications where seawater is used for cooling, biofouling and marine growth reduce the efficiency and life of the process equipment and increases the frequency of maintenance. A De Nora SWEC system receives seawater at a fixed flowrate and produces low-strength sodium hypochlorite that can be injected at any point within the vessel.
