Produced Water Treatment

Onshore and offshore exploration and production companies have learned that disinfecting produced well water prior to reinjection or before discharging the water overboard, eliminates Sulfate Reducing Bacteria (SRB) that create H2S. Eliminating the H2S helps prevent corrosion of equipment, and assists in reducing the oil content in the produced water. By injecting Sodium hypochlorite created by ClorTec®, SANILEC® or SEACLOR® after the separation of the produced water from the oil and gas, the produced water remains bacteria-free preventing the formation of H2S and extending equipment life.

De Nora Neptune uses simple, cost-effective technologies to meet our customer’s PWR specifications, including mobile on-the-fly or permanent recycling facilities with no volume restrictions. The centerpiece of the De Nora Neptune system, the ClorTec® electrochlorination system offers a robust and inexpensive solution, generating a 0.8% sodium hypochlorite oxidant that kills 99.9% of all bacteria with less expense than any other alternative.

Midstream companies have built an infrastructure of pipelines and storage pits that have produced profitable water takeaway contracts. Now the industry is poised to recycle produced water, promoting a robust ESG model and providing new revenue streams.  De Nora Neptune systems empower midstream end-users by offering tailored equipment or full-service on-the-fly (OTF) mobile operations that promote sustainability and limit operational costs.

With De Nora technology at the centerpiece of the recycling process, midstream companies can confidently transition to a safe, sustainable, and profitable recycled water model that promotes ESG standards.
